A corporate and development centre platform for a regional enterprise center in Estonia: an event calendar built on the centre’s knowledge base, registration and subscriptions by event type, in three languages.

Task

The centre announces many events and describes them in detail in its knowledge base, with recommendations for different kinds of entrepreneurs. It needed a new site that turns this content into an event calendar, collects registrations and subscriptions from different types of potential leads, and handles a large audience, with content moved over from the legacy site.

What I built

  • Event calendar built from the events the centre announces and describes in its knowledge base.
  • A branched subscription system for different types of events, depending on the type of potential lead.
  • Different registration forms for each lead type, on CF7 with custom select2 and date and time pickers, with tracking on the forms.
  • Integration with subscription systems: Smaily email marketing, leads export to Google Sheets.
  • Theme on ACF Pro. WPBakery was the natural choice: the page builder comes from Estonia and is the most widely used there.
  • A full set of custom WPBakery add-ons built to the new design flow, so the team could reuse almost every element of the design when managing the site: from a simple event counter and filtering add-on to cards, team member cards and team lists filtered by groups and areas.
  • Custom search.
  • Content migration from the legacy site, WPML (ET · RU · EN), technical SEO.
  • Custom solution for the accessibility plugin.

How it went

The project has a large audience and can get situational load peaks, so the site had to stay fast through them. The other part was the variety of leads: each type of entrepreneur needed its own forms, subscriptions and tracking, all inside one system the team could manage.
